Myer ‘Magic of Christmas’ Mall Parades and Pantomime 2011

The Myer Parades and Pantomime have been a resounding success with record crowds each and every night to watch DLDC students bring live entertainment and joy to the Brisbane public. Thousands have attended to see DLDC bring to life the ‘Magic of Christmas’.

The whole event has spread the spirit of Christmas throughout the City Mall with the heartwarming tale of how the Angel of Christmas along with Elf Security Division under the command of Head of Staff Ruth McElf saved the day by capturing the truly amazing but evil magician and his sidekick ‘Hop’ who were trying to steal the magic of Christmas.

Sydney Eisteddfod Results

DLDC has just returned from a most successful weekend at the Sydney Eisteddfod. Our full time students took 1st place in the Open Musical Theatre Section. They were also asked to return to Sydney for the Finals night on July 31 at the Opera House to perform their winning piece “When You’re An Addams”. Our Jazz entry also placed in the top groups in the Open Jazz Section with a Highly Commended.

Brisbane Performing Arts Challenge

DLDC 12 & U classical students take 1st place in the Classical Group Section of the competition.

As well our Senior Performance Team placed 1st and 3rd in the Open Jazz Section with their pieces choreographed by Simon Lind – ‘MJ’ and ‘Swingin’. DLDC 15 & U topped nearly all their sections including Jazz, Song and Dance, Lyrical groups.

Our little 8 & U tappers also placed 1st in the 8 & U Tap Group Section…..Congratulations to all our Performance Students!
